Dr. Kwaku Frimpong to sue the Ghana Football Association : The banned Ashantigold president is planning to sue the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over defamation of character.

This is according to experienced football administrator Kofi Manu “Blue Boy” who is closer to Kwaku Frimpong.

“The injunction is just the first step. After that Champion Kwaku Frimpong will sue the GFA Exco for defamation” Kofi Manu revealed on Kumasi-based Abusua FM on Thursday night.

Dr. Frimpong was banned from all football-related activities for 120 months and slapped with a fined 100 000 Ghana Cedis for his match-fixing crimes during a Week 34 game against Inter Allies last two seasons in which his team – Ashantigold won by 7-0.

Ashantigold – demoted to Division Two by the GFA Discplinary Committee for the same match-fixing offenses – have resorted to the law court to secure an injunction barring the GFA from commencing the new league season.

The 2022/23 betPawa league is scheduled to start this weekend but now it remains to be seen if the league organizers will change their plans or continue as scheduled.

“Anyone who tries to play the betPawa PL will spend the Christmas in jail” Kofi Manu boldly said on Abusua FM.

Meanwhile Ghana Sports Market cannot confirm whether the GFA has indeed acknowledged receipt of the court injunction.
