Abdulai Gazale on Kotoko Title Defence Chances : Asante Kotoko picked a point from their Week 24 Ghana Premier League game against Legon Cities at the El Wak Stadium on Thursday afternoon and after the game Kotoko interim boss Abdulai Gazale pointed out how the Porcupine Warriors can defend their league title this season.
Richard Boadu converted a 15th minute penalty to put the reigning Ghana champions ahead but Alex Aso netted a second half equalizer to salvage a point for the home team as the game ended 1-1.
Acting head coach of the Porcupine Warriors Abdulai Gazale reacted following his maiden game in charge since replacing head coach Seydou Zerbo who was sacked on Monday March 27th.
Quizzed about the title chances of his team , Gazale responded as follows :
“Yes definitely , definitely because we are working hard. You know Kotoko without a trophy there is no league and the boys they know it in their mind. Once we are going back to the house we are going to work and then make sure that the rest of the games , we still have 11 matches to go.
If we are able to get at least wins out of that particular matches we are likely to come on top of the league and that is what we are going to work on.
We will pick the match one by one , the next match is against RTU , we are playing at home and we cannot afford to lose that match or we cannot afford to draw again.
So we are going back to Kumasi , work hard and get the three maximum points in order to close up the gap in the league table.” , Gazale said.
