Alexander Djiku Will not Play against Monaco on Sunday : AS Monaco welcome Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace to the Principality for Week 29 of the 2022/23 French Ligue 1 season but Ghana center-back Alexander Djiku is not part of the game due to suspension and an injury.
The match takes place on Sunday and Strasbourg will be without their most reliable defender for several seasons running.
Manager Frédéric Antonetti spoke to the media ahead the huge clash tomorrow and said :
“There are a few small sores. Morgan Sanson has a little uncertainty. Alex Djiku is suspended. Colin Dagba, Maxime Le Marchand and Dimitri Liénard are out.”
The 28-year old whose contract ends at the end of the current campaign has appeared in 22 league matches for his club this season.
Djiku started the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Angola at the Babayara sports stadium on March 23rd but went out injured in the 87th minute. He subsequently missed the reverse qualifying match in Luanda on Monday March 27th as the Black Stars drew 1-1.
