Asante Kotoko Board Dared to Sack CEO Nana Yaw : The recent tension at Asante Kotoko has got the media and many fans of the club talking but for Fox FM sports pundit James Nkansah “Principal” , the board of directors of the club should sack Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah if they think he is not up to the task.
According to the outspoken pundit , that will better for the Porcupine Warriors than the current bad blood between the board chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei and the management of the club.
“The club is divided now. On the board of directors they are those against Nana Yaw Amponsah and there are those who support him but the interest of the club should paramount.
The board chairman Kwame Kyei has his camp and CEO Nana Yaw also has his camp. Do we win battles with this divided team? ” , James Nkansah quizzed on Fox FM.
The journalist continued :
“Now my sources tell me some of the board of the directors who were on the part of the board chairman are now on the side of Nana Yaw. My biggest problem is that the club Kotoko is the party to suffer but not the individuals. As for the personalities they will surely leave the club one day but the team remains forever.
Almost every three years , the Kotoko team undergoes this internal set back. Look at the incident where some “macho men” were hired to go and attack Nana Yaw at the stadium. That was so so unfortunate. I mean who does this in this era.
It is about time we put a stop to all these things because they don’t help the progress of the club. It is an open secret that the board chairman and the CEO do not see eye to eye. They will deny publicly but the truth is that they are struggling to team up together.”
“If the board think the CEO is not doing his job well , what prevent them from sacking him. Nana Yaw sacked coach Maxwell Konadu and Seydou Zerno and co because he thought they were underperforming and so in the same sense , the board should sack the CEO if they think he is not doing well” , Nkansah added.
Meanwhile Asante Kotoko take on Aduana FC for their Week 27 fixture of the Ghana Premier League at the Babayara sports stadium. The Red are under pressure to win the big game after losing 3-0 at Berekum Chelsea last Sunday in Berekum.
