Vinicius Jr Racially Abused at Girona : On Tuesday evening, Real Madrid lost at Girona in the La Liga by 4 – 2 and winger Vinicius Jnr was racially abused by some of the home fans of Girona.
A meeting marked, once again, by racist acts on the part of supporters towards Vinicius Junior (already the case in the Madrid derby in September and in Mallorca in February).
In the 37th minute of the match, the Brazilian international (21 caps) received a yellow card for provocation following a contact.
In the process, “Mono” (monkey in Spanish) descend from the stands of the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. Later in the match, a Catalan supporter imitating monkey cries was even caught on camera by the broadcaster.
La Liga, which has not yet communicated on the subject, was however targeted by a tweet from Vinicius after the meeting.
Goal scorer on Tuesday, the Merengue made his despair known via emoticons, after the post of the Brazilian media Mundo da Bola: “Vinícius Jr was lying on the ground and the player from Girona threw the ball at him. Vini complained, took a yellow card and the opponent nothing.”
