Albert Amoah Ruled out for Two Months: Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah is set to be out of action for two months following a partial tear of the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) in his right leg.

The former Great Olympics man sustained the injury during the Porcupine Warriors’ Ghana Premier League (GPL) week 16 fixture against Medeama SC at the TnA Stadium.

Albert Amoah suffered the injury in the high-intensity clash as he contested for the ball during the second half. He was substituted immediately and underwent medical evaluations, which confirmed the extent of the damage. The ATFL, one of the key ligaments in the ankle, is commonly injured in sprains and sudden twists.

Kotoko’s medics have now outlined a recovery plan for the 22-year-old, which includes rest, physiotherapy, and a gradual return to training. Despite the setback, the prognosis is optimistic, with Amoah expected to return to full fitness by March.

Amoah has been a standout performer for Asante Kotoko this season, contributing significantly to the team’s attack. His absence will be a challenge for Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, who will need to explore alternative options in the attacking lineup.

Kotoko fans have also rallied behind Amoah, flooding social media with messages of encouragement and wishes for a speedy recovery.

Asante Kotoko, currently in the hunt for a strong finish in the GPL, will now rely on other players to step up in Amoah’s absence as they navigate the remainder of the season.
