BRUTAL DECISION ? : Hughton does not select skipper Andre Ayew in his match-day squad for Angola match

Andre Ayew Not Selected against Angola : Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has picked the Black Stars starting line – up to take on Angola on Thursday evening on the occasion of Match-Day Three of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series and skipper Andre Ayew fails to make the match-day squad.

Also Mohammed Salisu of Southampton does not make the squad due to his lack of fitness.

“If I look at the squad, the only concern would be about Mohammed Salisu who there has been some concerns about him over the last few weeks. He has had some difficulties, some injury difficulties over the last two week.” , Chris Hughton revealed on Wednesday.

“I know he played last week but his club has used him sparingly because of some of the issues.

So this is one that we have to consider so from the squad that we he would be the only doubt that we would have and it’s something that we would have to determine and think about today and tomorrow.” , he added.

It is therefore surprising why the captain of the side is not in the team since there wo no issues of match fitness regarding the Nottingham Forest midfielder.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Joseph Wollacot is also ruled of the match after suffering a goal post injury during the Black Stars training session on Tuesday at the Babayara sports stadium.
