Democracy Cup 2024: Watch Hearts of Oak vs Asante Kotoko Live Now!

Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko contest the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup at the Accra sports stadium on Wednesday night.

The Democracy Cup match themed “30 Years of Parliamentary Democracy Under the 4th Republic: The Journey Thus Far,” is being organized by the Parliament of Ghana.

The winner of tonight’s one-off affair will face DC United in the United States of America, Washington.

Watch the live streaming of the 2024 Democracy Cup here:

The Porcupine Warriors finished 6th in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season while Hearts of Oak needed a win on the last day of the season against Bechem United to avoid relegation. They Phobians won 3-2 to occupy the 14th position on the final league standings.

There has been a massive player shake-up at Kotoko ahead of the upcoming season after the club parted ways with more than 20 players while top scorer of last season Steven Mukwala has left on free transfer.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, absent from the Cup match due to illness, has signed new players including Elvis Kyei Baffour, Sudan duo Esmat Abdulhamid and Abdoelkareem Yagoub, and Congolese Gilbani Samba Ndongani.

The Reds head into the game with confidence having defeated their sworn rivals back-to-back in the previous league campaign.

On the flip side, Hearts of Oak will be looking to annex the maiden trophy to pacify their fans following a really bad season.
