Hearts in Mali : Hearts of Oak take on AS Real Bamako at the Stade du 26 Mars on Saturday in Bamako during the first leg match of the CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round tie between the two sides.

The game kicks off 16 : 00 (Local Time in Ghana)

The Phobians have crossed the path of Malian clubs several times in Africa.

The 2015 CAF Confederation Cup was the last time the Ghanaian giants met a Malian opponent ; AC Dojliba. Hearts of Oak won the first leg by 2-1 at the Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako with goals from Gilbert Fiamenyo and Paul Acquah before losing the reverse match by 1-0 in Accra.

Hearts in Mali : Saturday’s match brings memories of 2015.

The Phobians advanced to the Playoff Round of the Confederation Cup where they were painfully eliminated by Esperance de Tunis who won 5-1 on aggregate.

In fact Fatawu Mohammed is the only player from the 2015 squad still at the club as every other member of that team then managed by the late legendary Ghanaian coach Herbert Addo is no more at Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak starting Line up against AC Djoliba on 17th April 2015 :

GK Soulama Abdoulaye , RB Owusu Bempah, CB Robin Gnagne, CB Philip Boampong, LB Isaac Oduro ; RW Richard Yamoah, CM Emmanuel Laryea, CM Paul Acquah, LW Isaac Mensah ; CF Gilbert Fiamenyo, CF Kwomi Foovi Aguidi
