Kotoko vrs Nsoatreman Commentary

Kotoko against Nsoatreman FC: The outstanding Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC takes place at the Babayara stadium on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors lead by 1-0 thanks to Stephen Amankona’s 13th minute penalty.

1st minute– The game is underway in Kumasi

4th minute – Mukwala gives a chase to a loosed ball and wins possessions, but he has been fouled just outside the Box. Agyapong effects the free kick but it’s blocked and cleared eventually.

10th minute- Mubarik Yusif goes down and he is currently receiving treatment after heavy challenge against him.

12th minute– Penalty for Kotoko

13th minute – Goal. Stephen Amakona steps up and converts from the spot to give Kotoko the lead. Yaw Ansah got the direction correct but he fails to stop it. Amankona thus becomes the second Kotoko player to score in the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League season.

16th minute– Early Substitution. Andrews Appau is taking the place of Yusif Mubarik who has been forced out due to an injury.

21st minute– Agyapong whips it through for Mukwala to give it a chase, he controls with his left but the wet pitch takes it inches wide of his feet and it’s cleared.

28th minute – Beautiful exchange of passes, Opppong finds Zeze who unzips the defence and sends in a through ball to Mukwala who is through on goal, but his curled effort is off target.

43rd minute : Mukwala nearly scored the second for Kotoko but goalkeeper Yaw Owusu Ansah makes amends.

45th minute : Mohammed Gargo issues instructions to his players.

45 + 2 minute : Yellow card to Philip Ofori of Nsoatreman FC for a foul against Augustine Agyapong.

End of the first half.

Welcome back for the second half.

47th minute : 2-0 Kotoko. Mukwala assists Isaac Oppong to score the second of the game for the champions.

50th minute : Nsoatreman pulls one back. 2-1. Philip Ofori with the goal for the visitors.

65th minute : Kotoko concede a free-kick on the edge of the box. Richard Boadu the offender. The freekick is taken but nothing comes out of it.

80th minute : We are into the last ten minutes of the game. Kotoko appear to settle with the 2-1 scoreline.

81st minute : Nsoatreman have a corner kick.

Full time : Asante Kotoko 2 Nsoatreman FC 1.
