Kotoko Sack Head Coach Seydou Zerbo : Asante Kotoko SC have parted ways with head coach Seydou Zerbo following the Porcupine Warriors 2-0 home defeat against Medeama SC on Sunday night.
“Club Notice. Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Coach Seydou Zerbo have this morning mutually agreed to part ways. Coach Abdul Gazale has been tasked to take charge as Acting Head Coach.” , the club announced on Twitter on Monday morning.
The defeat was the 6th league loss of the season and the 8th overall defeat for the Ghana champions this season.
As exclusively revealed by GhanaSportsMarket.com , the head coach returned from Burkina Faso on Saturday night and took charge of the betPawa Ghana Premier League Week 23 match at the Babayara stadium on Sunday.
Jonathan Sowah and Vincent Atingah scored the goals as the Yellow and Mauves dominated the Reds in front of their home fans.
Zerbo was in his native country for some two weeks following the passing away of his ten-year old son.
He came back only to suffer his sixth defeat of the league season and with the defending champions at the 7th place with 34 points in 22 matches , Nana Yaw Amponsah and his management team have reacted by showing Zerbo the exit door.
