Africa deprived of another big star at Qatar 2022 WC as Mane is ruled out

Mane Injured and Out : The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place without reigning African footballer of the year Sadio Mane who has been ruled out of the Mundial on Thursday.

This means the Bayern Munich attacker joins the likes of Liverpool forward teammate Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez as big name African players who will not play at football’s biggest ever competition that kicks off Sunday in Qatar. Egypt and Algeria did not qualify for the World Cup.

Team doctor of Senegal Manuel Afonso confirmed the news in a video posted by the Senegal Football Federation on social media.

“Unfortunately, today’s (Thursday) MRI shows us that the evolution is not favorable as we imagined and we unfortunately decide to withdraw Sadio from the World Cup,” Manuel Afonso said.

Also Victor Osimhen who is having a terrific season with Napoli in the Serie A this season will not be seen in Qatar as Nigeria did not qualify for the tournament.
