Mohammed Alhassan Concedes Poor Penalty : Aduana Stars defeated Asante Kotoko by 1-0 to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup thanks to a schoolboy penalty conceded by defender Mohammed Alhassan.

Midfielder Elvis Opoku located striker Isaac Mintah with a clever ball in the Kotoko area.

The former Hearts of Oak center-back then tried to dispossess the striker but he caught Mintah with both hands and the referee did not hesitate to award a penalty to the home team. Alhassan should have definitely done better.

Sam Adams who rejoined the Ogya Side following an unsuccessful 2020/21 season in Kumasi stepped forward to perfectly convert the ensuing kick from the spot in the 60th minute.
