Mohammed Polo Speaks About Ronaldo of Al Nassr : Ghana football icon Mohammed Polo has opened up about his impact on football in the Middle East, asserting that he played a crucial role in raising its profile before the arrival of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
During his tenure, Mohammed Polo showcased his talent while representing Al-Wasl in Dubai, garnering immense popularity among fans.
Despite the absence of social media at the time, recent videos have surfaced, displaying Polo’s mesmerizing ability to navigate through defenders, solidifying his reputation as a football genius.
The global recognition attributed to Al-Nasrr and the Saudi league is often connected to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Mohammed Polo is steadfast in his belief that he also enjoyed a similar surge in prominence during his time in the Middle East.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, the ex-Ghanaian international said, “Ronaldo is a latter-day saint. It’s time now, but everybody has their time.
“Slavery started in the Arabian world so there was no way they would carry a black person but they did it for me because they didn’t understand I was too good. It was even the twilight of my football but what they saw was Wow!.”
