Arsenal have to win the Premier League to avoid a third trophyless season for Thomas Partey

No Silverware for Partey at Arsenal : Arsenal FC were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League at the Round of 16 stage by Portugal side Sporting CP last Thursday night.

The second leg ended 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium following a 2-2 result in the previous leg in Lisbon.

The away team went on to win the penalty shoot-outs by 5-4 as Gabriel Martinelli Arsenal’s fourth and last kick of the shoot-outs with the away team converting all five attempts.

Arsenal are now out of every Cup competitions this season ; the FA Cup , the EFL Cup and the Europa league. Meaning their only means to a silverware this campaign is the Premier League which they lead with 66 points in 27 matches ; five more points over second-placed Manchester City.

As a matter of fact since Partey moved from Atletico Madrid to the Gunners in October 2020 for a fee of 50 million Euros , he is yet to win any trophies with Arsenal.

In order to avoid a third straight trophy-less season , Mikel Arteta and his players have to win this season’s Premier League title at all cost.
