The head coach of the Ghana national team, Chris Hughton has named his squad for the friendly matches against Mexico and USA.
The coach has selected 23 players to play for the Black Stars in the two international friendlies to be played this month.
Defender Baba Abdul Rahman is one of several players dropped from the Black Stars squad.
He was part of Ghana’s squad that played against Central African Republic and Liberia last month but will not be part of the Black Stars squad for the Mexico and Liberia friendlies.
In addition, the Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew has been left out of the Ghana squad and will play no part in the games.
Meanwhile, Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey who missed Ghana’s last two matches have returned to the Black Stars squad.
This month, Ghana will take on Mexico at the Bank of America stadium – in Charlotte on Saturday, October 14, before taking on the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, in Nashville Tennessee.
Coach Chris Hughton is expected to use the two friendlies as part of the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
