The Black Stars of Ghana have been put in the same group as Egypt in Group B of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations during Thursday’s final draw held in Abidjan.
Mozambique and Cape Verde are the two other teams in the group.
Egypt are the most successful national team on the continent with seven AFCON titles won in 1957 , 1959 , 1986 , 1998 , 2006 , 2008 and 2010 whilst Ghana have not won the competition since their last one in 1982.
Meanwhile Cape Verde are making their fifth AFCON appearance at next year’s event in Ivory Coast whilst Mozambique are back at the continent’s flagship soccer competition for the first time after missing the last six editions.
