George Amoako On Lack Of Consistency of Leadership at Kotoko : Former Asante Kotoko general manager George Amoako says it is difficult for top management team members to remain at the at their positions beyond two years.
According to the veteran football administrator , that undesired situation is one of the reasons why the Porcupine Warriors have struggled to have consistent success over the years.
The current Ghana Football Association executive committee member was the general manager of the Reds between August 2018 and June 2020 and therefore knows exactly what he is talking about.
“Kotoko is not a simple institution. It is not easy at all leading the club. They get fed up with you after two years and everything you do , they will see it with negative eyes.” , he told Oyerapa TV.
“We need to sit down and look at the issues carefully. With how things are done with the Adhoc approach , it will be difficult.”
“It is not easy running Kotoko, you must be a Kotoko supporter and understand the culture of the club , it is not about being rich , most of the time the club has flourished , the club was not run by rich men.” , he added.
Meanwhile current Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah , appointed on 7th August 2020 will have his term expire on August 7th this year.
The CEO waits to learn his future as the Kotoko board is expected to be reformed by His Royal Highness Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
