The CAF Champions League game between Remo Stars Sports Club of Nigeria and Medeama ended 1-0 in favour of the home side after 90 minutes on Sunday as the Ghana champions claimed a 3-2 penalty shootout victory against their opponents.
The second leg of the First Round tie was played at the Remo Stars stadium. An own goal in the 73rd minute out the home team ahead.
Remo Stars scored a second goal at stoppage time but fortunately for the champions of Ghana , the effort was ruled out for offside.
As the tie ended 1-1 , penalty shootouts were used to separate the two rivals and it was the Yellow and Mauves that carried the day.
Medeama will now meet Horoya AC of Guinea in the second and final qualification round.
