Nii Noi interim coach : Hearts of Oak have sacked head coach Samuel Boadu following the win-less start to the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season and Hearts U20 head coach Samuel Nii Noi has been named as interim replacement.

The club says former goalkeeper of the Phobians Benjamin Mensah will assist Nii Noi until a main technical head of the first team is appointed.

The champions of Ghana of last two seasons say thy are heading towards a new direction and Boadu is not deemed the right manager to continue leading them.

Nii Noi acted in the same role when Kosta Papic left the club in the 2020/21 season.

Samuel Boadu resigned from his role at Medeama SC in February 2021 to take over the vacant head coach position at Hearts of Oak in March 2021. He won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup in the same season.

Boadu won the FA Cup again last season but a bad start to the 2022/23 season has cost him his job.

The Phobians lost at Aduana Stars on opening day of the season before drawing consecutive games against city rivals Great Olympics and sworn enemies Asante Kotoko.
