Gold Stars Boss Michael Osei Cries Foul Over Officiating : Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Michael Osei has complained about the quality of refereeing in his side’s 1-1 home draw against Hearts of Oak on Saturday.
The Ghana Premier League Week Seven match ended 1-1. Appiah McCarthy scored an incredible free-kick in the 81st minute to put the home team ahead but Martin Koopman’s side equalized in the 90 + 2 minute thanks to Hamza Issah who headed home from close range.
After the game, this is the full reaction from Gold Stars boss Michael Osei :
“I think the intensity of the game was very high , both teams displayed very well in the game but at the end I think we were the better side to win the game.” ,
We scored a perfect freekick and then later on we concede such a goal , as a technical person I don’t understand why the referees should allow this goal. But all the same we have to go back and watch the game very well and assess it because it not all well , the officiating”
“How I saw the game it was a clear foul against my goalkeeper , it was a clear foul, he pushed him but I don’t why they allowed this goal but all the same it was a fine game and I really appreciate the performance of my team , it was a very difficult game , Hearts of Oak was also good but we were the better side to win the game because we deserve the win and then we score a perfect goal and then such a goal comes but then if such things are going on then it is a big problem for Ghana football “.
Class One referee Maxwell Owusu was the center referee with assistance from Theophilus Akugre and Ali Timuah Baah.
