Ghana Football : Black Satellites Aim for African Games Glory to Compensate for Black Stars’ poor AFCON display

Black Satellites Aim for African Games Glory : Ghana will face Uganda in the final of the Men’s football competition after beating Senegal 1-0 in the semifinal on Tuesday.

The Black Satellites scored late to beat Young Teranga Lions Senegal to book a place in the final hurdle of the competition and in this grande finale against Uganda, they have an opportunity to put a smile on the faces of Ghanaian soccer fans following the poor performance of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

Substitute Michael Ephson latched on to a pass from Jerry Afriyie to slot in the winner for the Black Satellites on the 83rd minute.

Coach Desmond Ofei’s side put out another dominant performance throughout the game to keep their Championship dreams alive. Despite the impressive performance from Ghana, Senegal proved to be formidable opponents as they managed to prevent Ghana from scoring early on.

Ghana will now face Uganda in the final -after they beat Congo 4-2 in the other semi-final match. The final of the Men’s football competition will be played at the Accra Sports stadium on Friday, March 22,2024 at 8:00pm.

The West African country has not won football gold medal at the African Games since they last did in 2011 with James Kwesi Appiah as head coach of the Black Meteors.
