Eric Bailly Suspended : As revealed by La Provence, the Disciplinary Committee of the French Football Federation has imposed a seven-game suspension on Olympique Marseille defender Eric Bailly.
The on-loan Manchester United defender was sent off after his kung-fu tackle on Mousa Ndiaye of Hyeres during a Coupe de France match. on January 7th.
Marseille CEO Pablo Longoria said he was “very surprised at this sanction”.
“If our player is truly suspended for seven games, it would above all be very serious if some people leaked this decision to the press without even bothering to notify the sanction and warn the club concerned. It is a lack of respect.”
Bailly’s accidental but violent gesture had taken his opponent to the hospital where he had even been admitted to intensive care as a precaution.
The defender was quick to hear from N’Diaye.
“He quickly came to our locker room to offer his jersey and above all to hear from him”, explained the assistant coach of Hyères (National 2) Zaki Noubir on Maritima radio. According to La Provence , N’Diaye is the subject of a 30-day ITT for a fractured rib, liver injury and internal bleeding.
