Mendy and Iheanacho on Target

Mendy and Iheanacho on Target : Leicester City spanked Tottenham Hotspur by 4-1 on Saturday during Week 23 of the English Premier League at the King Power stadium.

Two African internationals started the game for the Foxes and were also on target as Leicester City made light work of Spurs who defeated Manchester City before this Saturday’s trip. They are Kelechi Iheanacho of Nigeria and Senegalese Nampalys Mendy.

Rodrigo Bentacur put Spurs ahead on 14 minutes but Africa Cup of Nations winner Mendy equalized for the team of Brendan Rodgers in the 23rd.

James Maddison made it 2-1 for the home side thanks to the assist of striker Iheanacho. The Nigerian moved from an assister to goal scorer himself at the stroke of half time as the 2015/16 Champions took a commanding 3-1 lead.

The goals represent the first and third league goals of the season for Mendy and Iheanacho respectively.

In the second half matters worsened for Antonio Conte and his boys as Harvey Barnes put the game completely beyond the reach of Spurs with an 81st minute effort.

Barnes had saw an earlier strike ruled out by VAR for offside.

Leicester City are now 13th on the Premier League table with 24 points in 22 games.
