Aduana Becoming Famous for Late Home Goals : Aduana Football Club left it very late to overcome Tamale City FC in their Week 25 betPawa Ghana Premier League match on Sunday at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium in Dormaa.
The current league leaders have struggled in their last six league outings following defeats at Samartex and Legon Cities and draws against Real Tamale United (RTU) and Berekum Chelsea.
In the last two home games , the Ogya Boys have scored three last-minute goals against RTU and Tamale City.
In the match against a very organized and compact RTU side , midfielder Kwame Adom Frimpong managed to give the home team the breakthrough in the 75th minute before the team of coach Abdul Mumin Abdulai equalized and went ahead in the 85th and 88th minutes.
RTU may have thought that a big away win was in the offing for them but Solomon Aboagye netted an equalizer with a penalty in the 10th minute of additional time to save the blushes of Samuel Kwesi Fabin’s team as the match ended 2-2. Ten minutes of additional time were added and RTU cried foul after the match.
The last-minute scoring ability of the two-time Ghana champions was demonstrated once again at the Golden City Park against Berekum Chelsea on March 29th when Douglas Owusu Ansah scored in the 88th minute but the home side refused to be beaten thanks to Mezack Afriyie’s 92nd minute leveler.
On Sunday , in their home game against Tamale City , Aduana broke the deadlock within the ten additional minutes as the contest ended 0-0 in normal 90 minute. It was striker Isaac Mintah who converted a 95th minute penalty to win it for the Ogya Boys.
Meanwhile Aduana continue to lead the league standings on 44 points in 25 matches played. Bechem United are second with 41 points , Medeama come next with 41 points as well and Hearts of Oak with their 39 points in 25 games played complete the top four.
