Abagna Unused Substitute against Sundowns : Ghana midfielder David Abagna Sandan was an unused substitute for Al – Hilal Omudurman in their CAF Champions League home draw against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The former Real Tamale United playmaker had started all four matches for the People’s Club in the continental competition this season but he watched the full match from bench yesterday.
Johnson Mudau scored in the 67th minute for the South African team before skipper Mohamed Abdel Raman equalized for the Sudanese side who earned a 90th minute penalty but Ethar El Tahir failed to score from the spot.
Meanwhile former Asante Kotoko left-back Ibrahim Imoro started the encounter but had to replaced in the 33rd minute due to an injury. Imoro underwent a scan as the Al – Hilal medics ascertain the degree of the injury.
Al – Hilal are still second on the Group B Standings with 10 points in 5 matches and they travel to Cairo on March 31st to take on Al Ahly who have 7 points in five games. ‘
The Day 6 match is a must win for the Egyptians whilst a draw could be enough for Al-Hilal to advance alongside Sundowns.
