StarTimes don’t have good cameras for the league coverage – Hearts of Oak board member Akanbi laments

Akanbi Laments StarTimes Poor Camera Quality : Board member of Hearts of Oak Alhaji Brimah Akanbi has complained about the lack of good cameras of StarTimes , the official broadcaster of the Ghana Premier League.

Akanbi passionately complains following Konadu Yiadom’s solitary goal for Hearts of Oak against rivals Asante Kotoko during last Sunday’s Super Clash in Accra.

The former WAFA center-back rose highest to head home Linda Mtange’s free-kick in the 56th minute but the official broadcasters (Adepa TV Channel 247 on Star Times) drew lines to show that Konadu may have been in an off-side position before the free-kick was taken and that the goal should not have stood.

However speaking about the correctness of the goal , the experienced football administrator believes Star Times themselves do not help matters.

“Even as at the time that our player that is Linda was about to kick the ball the camera was on him but if they (StarTimes) had good cameras they should have been able to capture the time he was about to kick the ball and look at the arrangement whether there were any movements.’ , the Hearts of Oak board member said to Sunyani-based Service Radio on Tuesday.

“Like I said this is a challenge for all of us but it was a clean goal and no one can convince me that it was an off-side goal” , Akanbi added.
