Baba Rahman Dropped : Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton has named a 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches against Angola this month but there was no place for Baba Rahman on the list.
The Chelsea defender now on loan at Championship side Reading FC appeared in all three group stage games of the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He started the Portugal 3 Ghana 2 opening match , came off the bench against South Korea and started the final group match versus Uruguay as Ghana lost by 2-0 to exit the tournament.
Baba has made 20 appearances for Reading this season.
The Black Stars will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023 for the reverse fixture.
Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
