Carlo Ancelotti On Copa del Rey Semis : Ahead of the first leg of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey Clásico, Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media on Wednesday and previewed the game that will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu on Thursday night.
Real Madrid are undefeated in their last six matches in all events. They defeated Al Ahly and Al Hilal to win the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.
They won couple of La Liga matches before destroying Liverpool by 5-2 in the UEFA Champions League.
Ancelotti said :
“This is the most important stretch of the season and these are the nicest games for players to play, with a final within reach.
The Copa del Rey may not be the most important competition in the first few rounds, but it becomes very important once you reach the semi-finals. It’s important to have courage in this kind of game.
We need to be complete in attack and defence.
We lacked a lot in the last Clásico and there were individual errors too. But, I don’t think this will happen again because we’re going to compete in this game and aim to take the advantage in the tie.
We want to win because we’re close to winning a title, not because of any kind of revenge for the Super Cup.”
Meanwhile Osasuna and Athletic Bilbao do battle in the first leg of the other Copa del Rey semi-final tonight.
