Christian Atsu Funeral Date : The family of the late Christian Atsu Twasam has announced the funeral date of the former Ghana international footballer who passed away following the disastrous Turkey earthquake of February 6th , 2023.
According to the Twasam family the funeral rites of the late Atsu will take place at the forecourt of the state house in Accra on 17th March , 2023.
The announcement was made at the one week celebration of the late soccer star on Saturday in Accra.
Christian Atsu was found dead on Saturday February 18th under the rubble of his residence that collapsed due to the 6th February earthquake that killed thousands of people across Turkey and Syria.
The former Newcastle United winger was on target for his club Hatayspor in a Turkish Lig game against Kasimpasa on Sunday 5th February before he the disaster struck the next day.
He made 65 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana between 2012 and 2019. Atsu was voted best player of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
