Hearts and Samartex Draw in Accra

Hearts and Samartex Draw in Accra : Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless drawn game by Samartex 1996 FC at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday during Week 13 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League.

The result means the Phobians have failed to win in their last two league outings following the stalemate against King Faisal in Kumasi during mid-week.

Congolese Linda Mtange struck the woodwork with a clever free-kick as the home team struggled to find the needed firepower up front to break a resolute Samartex side.

Before that , Seidu Abubakar thought he had put Samartex ahead but his effort was overruled for offside.

Whilst the result suits the visitors who go back to Samreboi with a point , Hearts of Oak are rather disappointed not to have picked all the maximum points in front of their home fans.

Aduana Stars who lost at Karela United are still leading the league standings with 24 points in 13 matches. The Phobians are temporarily second with 21 points after 13 games whilst Bechem United with 20 points in as many matches and Asante Kotoko who play on Monday follow.
