Ibrahim Tanko on Algeria Showdown on Tuesday March 28th : Head coach of the Ghana U23 national men’s team Ibrahim Tanko has implored Ghanaians soccer fans in Kumasi to come in numbers to support the Black Meteors during a 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualification (U23 AFCON) decider against Algeria on Tuesday.

The Black Meteors drew 1-1 against the Fennec Foxes on Friday March 24th  in Annaba during the first leg of the final round qualifier in a game that saw Sporting CP prodigy Abdul Fatawu Issahaku score a sensational long range goal.

The Kumasi fans were hailed after turning out in great numbers to support the Black Stars of Ghana against Angola in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Babayara stadium and Tanko is expecting to see a similar atmosphere today.

“They came out in numbers to support the Black Stars and these are the future Black Stars players and I hope that they will come in numbers to support us.

We are all Kumericans so we are waiting for them to come and give us support. Definitely we want to win and as I said we will have a full house and map up a strategy and definitely we are going to beat them.” , the Ghana U23 head coach said.

It should be noted that the away goal rule applies in this U23 AFCON qualification series.
