Tanko masterminded Lions’s 3-2 win over Dreams FC on Monday night in a Week 21 league match. The Accra-based side are second on the league standings with 37 points in 21 matches ; just two points adrift leaders Aduana FC.
Abass Samari and Dominic Amponsah (brace) scored the goals for Accra Lions whilst Eric Danso Boateng and Ebenezer Adade were the goal scorers for the visiting team.
In his post-match interview , Tanko said the following.
On the performance of his team :
“Well I said it before the game that we are going to play against a very good team but we are good in form and we continued from where we stopped and I think it is a deserved win.
On their chance of winning the league this season
Yeah I mean we take it game by game. I said we are enjoying the moment and the second position is good for us and so let’s keep working hard and then at the end of the season if we are came to first why not.
On Dominic Amponsah and Abass Samari Salifu :
Of course it is a team work and these are the guys who scored the goals today. I mean I have to compliment the team , not only them and all the players are working hard and if they scored today maybe next week someone else will score. The most important thing is we won , we have the three points.
