On This Day in 2017 : Asante Kotoko suffer team bus accident at Nkawkaw as one person was killed !

Kotoko Suffer Team Bus Accident on This Day in 2017 : Asante Kotoko team bus was involved in a road accident around Nkawkaw exactly on this in 2017 as the Porcupine Warriors were returning home following a Ghana Premier League match against Inter Allies at the El Wak stadium.

It was a Week 22 league encounter as Abdul Halik Hudu scored the only goal of the game for Allies on Wednesday 12th July 2017.

Assistant equipment officer Thomas Obeng Asare suffered serious injuries and was confirmed dead at a nearby hospital on that same night.

Six years later , players and staff members who were on the team bus continue to demand compensation from the club but they have received nothing at the moment. As for former striker Sadick Adams , he has vowed never to forgive the club if they do not compensate him.

On 1st May 2023 , the club released a statement in which they promised to have started plans the process to compensate all persons involved in the accident.

Meanwhile Otumfour Osei Tutu II is expected to announce the formation of a new board of directors on Saturday.
