Partey Pays Tribute to Christian Atsu : Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey paid a tribute to the late Christian Atsu following Arsenal’s 3-2 comeback win against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors took a 2-0 lead at the Emirates Stadium through Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi. Billing netted the opener for Bournemouth after just ten seconds into the game before Senesi made it 2-0 in the 57th minute.

Mikel Arteta’s side needed a quick response to avoid a crucial home defeat and it was Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey who started the comeback with his 62nd minute effort. He slightly lifted his jersey to show the words “” Rest well Christian Atsu” written on his undershirt.

After the game Partey fully took off his jersey to reveal his tribute to Atsu.

The goal was the third of the season for the former Atletico Madrid man.

Ben White made it 2-2 in the 70th before substitute Reiss Nelson clinched the winner for Arsenal deep in injury time.

Arsenal still lead the Premier League standings with 63 points in 26 matches as Manchester City , who defeated Newcastle United by 2-0 earlier today , chase the Gunners with five points less at the second spot.

Meanwhile the one week observation of the late Black Stars winger took place on Saturday in Accra as plenty former players and dignitaries appeared at the event to commiserate with the Twasam family.

The funeral rites of the late Christian Atsu takes place on March 17th at the forecourt of the state house in Accra.
