FC Samartex 1996 vs Asante Kotoko : Confirmed Starting Line – Ups

GhanaSportsMarket.com provides live text commentary of the match between FC Samartex 1996 and Asante Kotoko from the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

22nd minute. Enock Morrison scores for Kotoko. The midfielder received a clever ball from Richmond Lamptey in the Samartex area and delivered a powerful left-footed effort that beat goalkeeper Lawrence Ansah.

Kotoko left back Nicholas Osei Bonsu initiated the attack on left side and found Lamptey as the Kotoko players neatly interchanged passes resulting in the Morrison opener.

26th minute : In the 26th minute Kotoko custodian Frederick Asare produces a great save to deny Emmanuel Keyekeh.

28th minute : Rocky Dwamena makes it 2-0 for the Porcupine Warriors in the 28th minute.

32nd minute – Annor Walker makes a quick substitution. Francis Gyetuah comes in for Enoch Afful.

34th minute – Evans Osei Owusu blasts one over the bar.

35th minute – The game is paused as a Samartex player receives medical attention on the pitch.

38th minute – Corner kick for Samartex but nothing good comes out of it.

39th minute – Good defending by Andrews Appau who wins a goal kick against Isaac Opoku Agyemang.

40th minute – Samartex hold the ball so well as they search for openings in the Kotoko defence but they are struggling to succeed.

41st minute – Mohammed Alhassan with a good clearance.

41st minute : Keyekeh strikes from afar but no worries for goalkeeper Asare.

43rd minute – Seidu Dauda takes a shot from distance but his effort goes wide.

45th minute – We are doing three minutes as additional minutes.

45 + 1 minute – Boadu commits a foul on Seidu Dauda and it is a freekick for Samartex. Asare does well to catch Isaac Afful’s freekick.

45 + 2 minute – Gyetuah shoots from distance but his effort lacks precision to go into the net.

45 + 3 minute – Referee Eso Doh Morrison whistles to end the first half and it a comfortable 2-0 lead for Asante Kotoko.

The Pocrupine Warriors are under the technical leadership of assistant coach Orlando Wellington as head coach Seydou Zerbo has traveled to his native country Burkina Faso following the death of his ten-year old son.

49th minute – Goal kick for Kotoko.

50th minute – Intelligent play by Lamptey as he wins possession for his team.

51st minute – Goal scorer Rocky Dwamena needs medical treatment.

54th minute – Freekick for Samartex on the edge of the Kotoko penalty box

54th minute – Shadrack Addo replaces Rocky Dwamena who has gone out injured.

59th minute – Frederick Asare pulls another big save. He goes down injured now.

65th minute – Foul by Sheriff Mohammed on Evans Osei Owusu.

69th minute – Kotoko continue to protect their 2-0 lead.

70th minute – Freekick for Samartex but Kotoko clear the danger.

71st minute – Raymond Kwoffie replaces Giyasu Ibrahim for Samartex.

77th minute – Asare saves Gyetuah’s header. Still 2-0 for Kotoko.

81st minute – Freekick for Samartex again but Keyekeh poorly shoots his effort over the bar.

84th minute – Another freekick for the home team and this time Seidu Dauda takes it and still nothing good comes from it.

87th minute – Samartex have another freekick on the edge of the Kotoko box but Osei Owusu’s kick is stopped by the Kotoko human wall.

89th minute – Samartex pulls a goal back. 2-1 now. Ebenezer Acquah with the goal for the home side.

90 +1 – Asare pushes Osei Owusu’s strike over the bar for a corner kick to the home team.

90 + 6 – Kotoko pushed forward looking for a third goal but Samartex clear their lines.

90 + 8 – Corner kick for Samartex. Osei Owusu takes it but Kotoko deal with it. That is the end of the match. Kotoko win 2-1.
