Thomas Tuchel to Land Bayern Munich Job : Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have decided to sack coach Julian Nagelsmann in surprising turn of events and former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is in line to replace Nagelsmann.
“Bayern are parting company with Nagelsmann with immediate effect,” reports BILD, confirming a report by Fabrizio Romano.
According to reports former Dortmund , PSG and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to be the next Bayern Munich head coach and his announcement is imminent.
Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea in September 2022 following a difficult start to the 2022/23 season as he was replaced by Graham Potter.
“Bayern have come to the conclusion that Nagelsmann is the main culprit” of the team’s bad form, according to BILD.
Bayern are second on the 2022/23 Bundesliga standings with 52 points in 25 games ; one point behind Borussia Dortmund who have collected 53 points after the same number of matches played as the Bavarians.
Nagelsmann and Bayern Munich were defeated at Bayer Leverkusen by 2-1 on March 19th and Dortmund thrashed FC Koln a day earlier to take advantage on top of the league table.
After last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen, tough words came from Bayern board member Hasan Salihamidzic:
“This is not what Bayern Munich stands for. We lost everything, we let ourselves be overwhelmed by a team that came from playing on Thursday.
“Rarely have I experienced so little drive, so little mentality, so little assertiveness.”
A few days ago, before the game against Leverkusen, the German coach spoke at a press conference after BILD leaked detailed tactical instructions that Bayern had prepared for the game against Bochum.
“I’m annoyed. I think about it a lot because I think about what the person who passes it on is trying to do. What do they expect? I always try to find out what the reason is and I can’t find out. I don’t think Springer (BILD) would pay 500,000 euros for information like that.
I don’t think it can be a monetary issue,” said a clearly annoyed Nagelsmann.
