Latest Real Madrid news of Tuesday 24th December 2024: We present to you the latest news from the camp of Real Madrid as La Liga go on break until the new year.
Los Blancos defeated Sevilla 4-2 last Sunday to go second in the league with 40 points, just one behind leaders Atletico Madrid, both of whom have played 18 games each, one less than third-placed FC Barcelona who have collected 38 points in 19 matches.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team will contest their 19th La Liga game of the season on 3rd January 2025 in an away trip to Valencia.
So what is happening at the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners?
1.Wonderkid Arder Guler named La Liga U-23 Player of the Month for December
Teenage sensation Arda Guler has been named the La Liga Under-23 Player of the Month for December. The 19-year-old Turkish talent beat off competition from the likes of Lamine Yamal of Barcelona, Ilaix Moriba of Celta Vigo, Jon Aramburu of Real Sociedad and Fabio Silva of Las Palmas) to pick the prize.
Guler, who has not always had it easy at Real Madrid, enjoyed a greater prominence under Carlo Ancelotti in the month of December.
The Turkish international kicked off the month with an impressive display in the second half during the 2-0 win over Getafe.
2.Target Theo Hernandez wants to Remain at AC Milan
There have been a lot of talks about Real Madrid wanting to go in for AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez. However, the 27-year-old defender, who has been linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, is said to be favouring a continuation with the Serie A side rather than returning to the Spanish powerhouse.
The relationship between the Frenchman, whose Milan contract expires in 2026, and Rossoneri manager Paulo Fonseca has deteriorated per many reports.
Real Madrid’s main left-back target for next summer is Alphonso Davies, but Bayern Munich are keen to extend their agreement with the Canadian.
3.Endrick Likely to Start in Copa Del Rey Clash
Brazilian prodigy Endrick has been an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s last two – 3-0 against Pachuca and 4-2 over Sevilla – but Carlo Ancelotti is planning to start the former Palmeiras attacker in Real Madrid’s Copa Del Rey encounter against Deportivo Minera slated for 6th January, 2025.
The decision is partly due to Los Blancos taking on Valencia just two days prior to the game, with the Italian manager expected to rest majority of his key players in the Cup match.
4.Possibility of Alphonso Davies Transfer Becoming Slimmer for Real Madrid
Alphonso Davies, for long, has been a priority target for Real Madrid and heading into 2025, the stars seem to be aligned for the Canadian left-back to finally make his way to the Spanish capital club.
After all, the 24-year-old’s contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season and a free transfer to Los Blancos appears to be on the cards, despite there being interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.
However, according to AS, Bayern Munich are stirring the pot and are making an attempt to complicate matters, generating uncertainty around the ‘Davies Operation’.
As per the report, Davies has already agreed on the terms of his contract with Real Madrid months ago. However, the deal has not been signed yet because it cannot be until 1st January. This is where the issue lies.
5.Real Madrid Have No Interest in Selling Rodrygo
In a recent update from AS, they have reported that Real Madrid are not even considering letting Rodrygo leave the club under any circumstances as they see the Brazilian as a vital part of the clubs project moving forward.
Since his arrival at Los Blancos in 2019 Rodrygo has had a somewhat up and down time but in the last few seasons he has established himself as one of the most important players in Carlo Ancelotti;s squad. The Brazilian only had six goals and three assists in all competitions this season but his impact in games can still be felt even when he isn’t on the statsheet.
Rodrygo is currently valued at around €110 million but that value does not matter as Real Madrid have absolutely no intentions of letting go of the attacker. Clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester City have been said to hold interest in the player but luckily for Real Madrid fans any move for the player seems out of question.
6.Star Attrraction Vini in Florida
Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior attended Miami Dolphins’ NFL clash against the 49ers as he jetted off to Florida ahead of La Liga’s winter break.
The 2024 FIFA best player of the year missed Real Madrid’s final game of 2024 after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Rayo Vallecano. Despite the Brazilian’s absence, Los Blancos picked a comfortable 4-2 win over Sevilla to end a remarkable year on a high.
With La Liga entering a short winter break, the winger jetted off to Florida and attended an NFL clash between the Miami Dolphins and the 49ers.
7.Inter Milan Wants Real Madrid Youngster
Inter will take a close look at Nico Paz on Monday, as they have earmarked him for next summer and have started concocting the strategy to sign him. Real Madrid control his future thanks to a manageable buy-back clause, TuttoSport informed.
Arsenal and Manchester United have sent their scouts to watch him a few times. Vice president Javier Zanetti was on the stands for the recent clash between Como and Roma. He played with the attacker’s father Pablo in the Argentinian national team in the 90’s. The starlet attended a charity event hosted by the foundation of the Nerazzurri legend about a month ago.
Real Madrid will likely activate their €12M option to re-acquire Nico Paz next summer, but it’s not certain he’ll stay put given their star-studded squad, and Inter could take advantage of that. The talent could be keen on continuing in Serie A.
8.Real Madrid and Chelsea Eyeing Move for Las Palmas Talent
Real Madrid have been joined in the hunt for Las Palmas talent Dário Essugo by one of the leading clubs in the Premier League.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing sources in Spain and England alike, who have confirmed this weekend that the race for the youngster is beginning to heat up.
Essugo, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade with the aforementioned Las Palmas.
9.Florentio Perez’s Confident Message Heading into 2025
As 2024 comes to a close, Real Madrid has continued its cherished tradition of releasing a special Christmas video, uniting its most iconic club figures to deliver a message of gratitude and hope to fans worldwide. This year’s video brings together club president Florentino Pérez, football and basketball coaches Carlo Ancelotti,
Chus Mateo, and Toril, alongside team captains Luka Modrić, Dani Carvajal, Sergio Llull, Edy Tavares, Olga Carmona, and Misa Rodríguez. The group celebrates a year brimming with success while extending heartfelt wishes for the holidays.
Reflecting on the year, he states, “Team spirit, dedication, and commitment are the values that define us. We have shared a year of great sporting successes.”
“This year, I want to have an emotional memory for all the people affected by the DANA tragedy. Our hearts are with them, and I want to show them once again our affection and solidarity,” said Pérez. “Real Madrid is a feeling that unites millions of people who identify with the values of our club.”
10.Zinedine Zidane Will Only Manage Again for Two Clubs
According to Spanish publication Marca, there are just two jobs that could see Zinedine Zidane persuaded to make a return to management.
The newspaper has reported that the 52-year-old, who has now gone over 1,300 days without a club, is only open to coaching France’s national team, or taking charge of Real Madrid for a remarkable third time.
It read: “Has Zidane left the bench? “The answer is no, but he has very clear ideas. And they are based on just two projects: Real Madrid and the French national team.”
One of the greatest footballers of all time, Zidane is a legendary figure with both of his potential suitors.
As a player, he inspired France to both World Cup and European Championship glory in 1998 and 2000.
