Opponents Watch : Injured Son Heung-Min is fit enough to play against Uruguay

Son Heung-Min : The Tottenham Hotspurs forward was a major doubt for his country’s World Cup opener against Uruguay on Thursday but head coach Paulo Bento has given a positive update about his captain.

South Korea play against Uruguay tomorrow at 16 : 00 GMT at the Education City stadium in Al Rayyan in the first match of Group H.

‘Sonny can play. Yes he will be able to play,’ Bento told a press conference on Wednesday.

‘I think the fact that he would be wearing a mask is not an inconvenience for him. It is rather natural for him.

‘We have stuck to the plan since we arrived here and also the way we integrated him into our group shows it has been natural.

‘We will see tomorrow how it will be. Our hope is he will feel comfortable to the greatest extent possible and we’ll use the best strategy so he will feel at ease during the game.’

Meanwhile Ghana and Portugal also play on Thursday night at 19 : 00 GMT at the Stadium 974 in Doha.
