OPINION on Thomas Partey : After his second-half masterclass against Everton on March 1st as Arsenal won 4-0 , Thomas Partey produced another big performance against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Gunners came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Bournemouth during Week 26 of the English Premier League at the Emirates Stadium and Partey played a significant role.
However the former Atletico Madrid anchorman is not the same player for the Black Stars at least in the last three major tournaments ; the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations , the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as he failed to impress.
Arsenal needed a quick response after going 2-0 down by the 57th minute and Partey was at the right place at the right time in the box to slot home Arsenal’s first goal in the 62nd minute.
It was exactly what Mikel Arteta’s side needed to stage the comeback as two more goals followed from Ben White and Reiss Nelson.
Indeed if Arsenal are to win the Premier League this season , it is obvious that Mikel Arteta will need more of these big displays from his Ghanaian midfielder but why he has failed to take the same influence to the national team in recent times remains a mystery.
