Top Ghanaian Scorers in the Premier League : Following Thomas Partey’s strike for Arsenal against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon , GhanaSportsMarket.com takes a look at the top nine Ghanaian footballers with the most goals scored in the English Premier League (EPL).

The EPL is one of the most credible league competitions in the world and here we see the Ghanaian players who have netted the most times in England’s top-flight league.

We begin the countdown :

9.Christian Atsu – 3 Premier League goals in 80 matches for Newcastle United , Everton and Bournemouth.

8.Sulley Muntari – 5 Premier League goals in 38 games for Portsmouth and Sunderland.

Muntari spent just a season with Portsmouth in the 2007/08 campaign helping them win the FA Cup. After three seasons with Inter Milan the man with the powerful left foot returned to the Premier League where he scored a goal in 9 Premier League games for Sunderland.

7.Thomas Partey – 5 Premier League goals in 69 matches for Arsenal

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder has now equaled Sulley Munatri’s Premier League goals tally following his strike against Bournemouth on Saturday as Arsenal clinched a 3-2 comeback win.

6.Asamoah Gyan – 10 goals in 34 Premier League games for Sunderland

Gyan did not stay in the Premier League beyond two seasons but he made a significant impact in England with his ten strikes before making the big move to Al Ain.

5.Michael Essien – 17 Premier League goals in 168 games for Chelsea

The former Bastia midfielder joined Chelsea in the 2005/06 season for a then club record transfer fee of 24.4 million Pounds for the English Premier League side.

4.Jeffrey Schlupp – 18 Premier League goals in 229 matches for Leicester City and Crystal Palace

The Ghana winger is marking his 10th consecutive season in the Premier League this season. After scoring 4 goals in the Premier League for Leicester City , Schlupp joined his current club in 2016.

3.Andre Ayew – 21 Premier League goals in 92 matches for Swansea City , West Ham United and Nottingham Forest

The Ghana skipper moved to the Premier League for the first time in 2016 when he signed for Swansea City from Olympique Marseille. He scored 12 goals in the Premier League in 46 matches for the Swans in two separate stints.

Ayew also did 9 goals in 43 league matches for The Hammers. Currently he has no goals for Nottingham Forest in 3 appearances.

2.Anthony Yeboah – 24 Premier League goals in 47 matches for Leeds United

Yeboah was among the very first group of African players who left a great impression on the minds of Europeans in the 90s. In 47 league matches the goal machine netted 24 times for Leeds United in three seasons.

1.Jordan Ayew – 30 Premier League goals in 145 matches for Aston Villa , Swansea City and Crystal Palace
