Aduana Stars Eliminate Kotoko : Asante Kotoko have been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup following their defeat against Aduana Stars on Sunday afternoon at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Stadium.

The Ogya Boys won the Cup blockbuster by 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals stage thanks to Sam Adams 60th minute penalty after Isaac Mintah was fouled in the area by Mohammed Alhassan.

Adams spent an unsuccessful season at Kotoko in the 2020/21 season but rejoined the Dormaa side to relaunch his career. The winger made no mistake against goalkeeper Frederick Asare as he converted from the spot to keep the double ambition of Paa Kwesi Fabin’s team alive.

Seydou Zerbo was without key players Ibrahim Danlad , Justice Blay , Rashid Nortey , Mubarik Yusif and co.

Augustine Agyapong threatened to score in the 10th and 40th minutes but experienced goalkeeper Joseph Addo ensured his goal is not breached.

The defending league champions failed to create any other decent goal scoring chances as forwards Steven Mukwala and Georges Mfegue were kept quiet by the central defensive pair of Stephen Anokye Badu and Alex Boakye.
