Osman Bukari becomes seventh ever player to score a World Cup goal for Ghana

Bukari : Red Star Belgrade winger Osman Bukari became the seventh Black Stars player to score a goal at the FIFA World Cup finals following his 89th minute header against Portugal on Thursday.

Portugal defeated Ghana by 3-2 during the Group H match at the Stadium 974 in Doha.

The 23-year old replaced Mohammed Kudus in the 77th minute and provided an instant impact for the team of Otto Addo as he rose at the far post to connect a deflected cross from Baba Rahman to make it 2-3 in the 89th minute as Ghana threatened a comeback.

The former Nantes forward now joins Asamoah Gyan , Andre Ayew , Sulley Muntari , Stephen Appiah , Haminu Draman and Kevin-Prince Boateng as the only players to have scored at least a goal for Ghana at the World Cup tournament.

Bukari also became the only second Black Stars player to score in his first match at the FIFA World Cup finals equalling the sixteen-year record of Draman.

Opinion : Forget Ismail Elfath , Otto Addo is the bigger part of the blame. He should’ve never substituted Andre Ayew.
