Chris Hughton Wary of Angola Threat : Ghana head coach says he has studied the last seven games of the Angola national team and that the Palancas Negras are very much capable of disturbing the Black Stars at the Babayara sports stadium on Thursday.
Despite the fact that the Black Stars play in front of their home fans , Hughton cautions that today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier is against a technically good team.
Ghana and Angola have each amassed four points in two matches played and the upcoming games between the two national teams are crucial in terms of who takes full control of the group.
“I look at my involvement in the team, the squad and association was before I was made head coach so I was aware of course as soon the campaign started and the draw was made that we will play against Angola.
So yes, as each coach will do, I have studied them in their last five, six, seven games.” , Hughton said on Wednesday.
“They are technically a very good team and obviously with Portuguese influence and a lot of good technical players so I am in no doubt that they are strong and tough opposition so we have to plan for that as we will do for any opposition.
But certainly they have the capabilities and very much aware that they can cause us a lot of problem and we have to be prepared for that.” , the Ghana boss added.
The match kicks off 16 : 00 GMT.
