Mohammed Salisu Doubtful for Angola Game : Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu may not feature for the Black Stars in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Angola on Thursday , Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has hinted.
Salisu who has appeared in 28 matches this season in all events for the Premier League side is the only source of concern for Hughton for today’s qualifier.
The Black Stars head coach faced the media on Wednesday and provided an update about one of the most important players of the Ghana team.
“If I look at the squad, the only concern would be about Mohammed Salisu who there has been some concerns about him over the last few weeks. He has had some difficulties, some injury difficulties over the last two week.” , Chris Hughton revealed.
“I know he played last week but his club has used him sparingly because of some of the issues.
So this is one that we have to consider so from the squad that we he would be the only doubt that we would have and it’s something that we would have to determine and think about today and tomorrow.” , he added.
Hughton still has plenty of central defensive options with Daniel Amartey , Alexander Djiku and Joseph Aidoo all in the squad.
The match kicks off 16 : 00 GMT at the Kumasi Babayara sports stadium.
