Qatar Are Eliminated : Host nation Qatar will not play any more matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament after November 29th as their elimination from the competition was confirmed on Friday.
The Maroon were defeated 3-1 by Senegal during the second round of group matches in Group A as Qatar failed to collect a single point in two games played already.
Having lost to both Senegal and Ecuador , Qatar are the first team whose group stage exit has been confirmed.
Ecuador and Senegal play on November 29th whilst Qatar contest their last match at the tournament against group leaders Netherlands on the same day.
Meanwhile Muhammad Muntari the Ghanaian-born Qatari became the first player to score a goal at the on-going Mundial for the host nation following his header against Senegal yesterday.
