The Eagles of Carthage are among the most experienced African nations in World Cup history, having made six appearances on football’s biggest stage.
Despite their six participations, Tunisia have never progressed from the group stage, a massive obstacle they hope to overcome in North America.
The North Africans’ maiden tournament finals came in Argentina 1978 as they recorded one win, one defeat and one draw, facing Mexico, Poland, and West Germany, respectively.
After missing out on the next four editions, the Tunisians qualified for three World Cups in a row in 1998, 2002, and 2006.
Miserably, they did not win a single match across these appearances.
The 2010 and 2014 editions were played without Tunisia, who bounced back to feature in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. As usual, they went home after group play.
