Franck Kessie : FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid by 1-0 during the first leg of the semi-finals of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey on Thursday night at the Santiao Bernebeu as Ivory Coast midfielder started the biggest match in club football.
The former AC Milan man was named in the Barcelona starting formation for the third game in a row and this is partly due to the unavailability of the midfield sensation Pedri.
Kessie was involved in the FC Barcelona goal forcing Madrid defender Eder Militao to score an own goal in the 26th minute.
He was however substituted off four minutes from time as manager Xavi introduced Sergi Roberto.
