Ghana Player Ratings Against South Korea : Ghana defeated South Korea by 3-2 at the Education City stadium in Al Rayyan on Monday afternoon during the second round of matches in the World Cup Group H as Mohammed Kudus and Cho Gue-Sung scored a brace each.

Against the run of play Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu slotted home the opener for the Black Stars in the 24th minute following a rebound in the South Korea box from a Jordan Ayew well taken free-kick.

Ten minutes later Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus , who assisted a goal against Portugal , then headed in a perfect delivery by the Crystal Palace striker Ayew to make it 2-0 for Ghana.

Despite the fact that South Korea enjoyed plenty of ball possession in the first half , Ghana who were pecked back for most parts of the first period , rather went into the break with a strong 2-0 lead.

Ghana coach Otto Addo made three changes from the starting team that lost to Portugal on Thursday November 24th in Doha. Jordan Ayew , Gideon Mensah and Tariq Lamptey came in to replace Alexander Djiku , Baba Rahman and Alidu Seidu.

The Asians responded strongly after the break by scoring two quick-fire headed goals through Jeonbuk striker Gue-Sung who netted both goals in the 58th and 61st minutes but Kudus hit the target again ten minutes later to realize his brace and Ghana’s third goal of the match. Inaki Williams had missed Gideon Mensah’s cut-back into the box but the unmarked Ajax playmaker succeeded in putting the ball at the back of the net to restore Ghana’s lead.

Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi pulled spectacular saves in the 74th and 90+4 minutes making sure the Black Stars keep their lead.

GhanaSportsMarket.com has rated the performance of the Black Stars players

Ghana Player Ratings Against South Korea :

GK Lawrence Ati Zigi 8/10 : Another huge performance from the St. Gallen goalkeeper. Produced at least four big saves to deny the South Koreans. He was not at clear fault for any of the two goals the opponents scored.

RB Tariq Lamptey 7/10 : Went out of the game in the 78th minute as one of the best Ghana performers. Made several interventions by blocking shots taken by the opponents. He did his defensive job so well.

LB Gideon Mensah 7/10 : Partly at fault for the second header of Gue-Sung , but Mensah produced a big performance overall. Assisted the third goal with a cut-back into the box for Kudus Mohammed to net the winner for the Black Stars.

CB Mohammed Salisu 7.5/10 : Great show from Salisu. Scored first to put his team ahead and provided ample security at the back for Ghana. Was beaten by Cho Gue-Sung for the first South Korea goal but was a reliable man in defence for the team of Otto Addo.

CB Daniel Amartey 7/10 : As calm as ever. Daniel progressed the ball well from the back and his quality and experience in defence means he is the best person to partner Salisu at the moment.

CDM Salis Abdul Samed 7.5/10 : Did his job so well. Always he was there to be the extra man for the back four as he dropped deep to help progress the ball to the midfielders and the attackers. Fine performance from the Lens man.

CDM Thomas Partey 7/10 : An indifferent performance from the Arsenal midfielder.

RF Mohammed Kudus 9/10 : Was the biggest attacking threat for the Koreans. Scored two goals to become the first Ghanaian player to do so in a single World Cup match.

AM Andre Ayew 7/10 : Performed his leadership role well and provided the necessary motivation for the Black Stars players to win their first match in Qatar.

LF Jordan Ayew 8/10 : Put in one of the best individual performances for any Ghanaian player in a very long time. Much involved in the first two goals of the Black Stars with his menacing crosses. His starting place against Uruguay is now assured.

CF Inaki Williams 6/10 : Works really hard up front but the Bilbalo man is yet to produce any reference performance for the Black Stars.

Coach Otto Addo 8 /10 : Made three changes to his starting team from the one that lost against Portugal and the outcome was Ghana’s first win at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His team has scored 5 goals and has conceded 5 goals. Going forward he needs to improve in this regard.
