Wollacot Update : Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott will reportedly miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after picking up a finger injury on Saturday.
The 26-year-old was expected to start in goal for Charlton Athletic during their league game against Burton Albion on Saturday.
However, Wollacott pulled out of the game after sustaining an injury during the warm up ahead of the game
But after undergoing scans on Sunday, the player will play no part of the Black Stars campaign in Qatar according to various media reports. However , Charlton Athletic have not officially communicated any updates regarding Wollacot’s situation.
He has been the first choice for the black stars since the 2021 AFCON through to the world cup qualifiers and was expected to make the final 26 man squad to the world cup.
